Thank you for reading our fifth issue!

I’d
like to take a moment to thank all of you who read and support this online
magazine.

This publication is a labor of love for
me.  It requires a lot of time and effort, but it is well worth it
each and every month.  The e-mails of support I receive from you (you
know who you are) make it that much more gratifying, too.  With luck,
there are a lot of people out there who are better off thanks to the
information and entertainment we’ve been able to provide here.  As
always, The Martialist owes a tremendous debt to its contributors,
none of whom receive a single dime for what they give of themselves here.

This issue is something special.  I’ve
pushed off a few of the unreleased free articles from August to this issue
to make it our giant “Back to School” September offering.
I say “Back to School” because we must all continue to
learn and develop.  When we stop learning, we stop
living.

Don’t forget that half of the magazine
is available for free, right here, every month.
Just so you can
catch up, if you haven’t read the free content for our issues so far this
year, here are links to them:

In the column to the right you’ll see a link to this
month’s free content repeated.  Below that is the listing of this
issue’s subscriber content.  Each issue contains such a list –
so you can see what you’re missing.  We hope that if you like what
you see for free online, you’ll be intrigued by the topics covered in our
subscriber mailing.  To subscribe and receive these articles each
month via e-mail, click here.

This month’s subscriber content includes a variety of
pragmatic advice from several contributors, among them a few new names and
some old favorites.

The free content this month features
an interview with and yet another article by Rich Dimitri
of Senshido
.  Originally planned for August, these articles have
been moved to this issue to accompany reviews of some of Rich’s
instructional material.  The same is true for The Martialist’s
review of Sammy
Franco
‘s Rat Packed tape.

This month’s free articles include several pieces penned
by your editor, as well.  Response to these articles has been
predominantly positive, for which I am thankful.  We are also
extremely pleased to have an interview this month with Gunnery Sergeant
David Craik of the United States Marine Corps.

Our goal at The Martialist is to
provide you with quality information, education, and entertainment – material that will help you make choices about realistic self-defense.

You may not like everything you see, but that’s okay – because I don’t agree with everything I publish from others, either.
(We encourage you to submit your own articles from different perspectives,
too.)  As you will read many times in perusing our articles, the choice is yours

Make it wisely.
