“Stay ‘unreasonable.’ If you
don’t like the solutions [available to you], come up with your
own.”

Thank you for reading our second issue!
I
am pleased to release the second issue of The Martialist.
Response to the first issue of the magazine this past May far exceeded my
expectations. In the first half of the month alone, we logged
hundreds of thousands of hits and used bandwidth like I never expected us
to use. I am extremely grateful to our many readers and hope to
continue improving the ‘zine, bringing you the best quality of which we
are capable with each issue.
The Martialist‘s contributors and I
have been busily networking, too. SelfDefenseGear.com
is now our official store, offering a variety of self-defense products
sold by a staff whose members truly understand how to bring added value to what they
do. Additionally, Coach
Scott Sonnon’s RMAX Productions is our officially endorsed source for
health, fitness, and conditioning equipment, information, and
training. As if that was not enough, Dan
Webre of Outlaw Fighting is our featured interview for this
issue. Dan’s constant help and support was instrumental in making
this magazine a reality.
This issue boasts some truly fine articles
submitted by several great people. Some of them are previously
unpublished. A few of them have names you’ll readily recognize, too
— such as Rich Dimitri
of Senshido or the prolific Keith
Pascal, whose books
I’ve enjoyed and to whose free
weekly articles I myself subscribe.
Our subscriber-only content contains ten
articles and a bonus article, whose topics range from the reality mindset,
to the trials and benefits of long-distance training, to the five animals
of Wing Chun Kung Fu. I think this issue is even better than our
premier for May — though I’m biased, of course.
Our goal at The Martialist is to
provide you with quality information, education, and entertainment —
material that will help you make choices about realistic self-defense.
As you will read many times in perusing our articles, the choice is yours.
Make it wisely — or suffer for it.
