To me the terms "executive" and "elite" speak of refinement and style. It is no surprise, then, that the SureFire E2E Executive tactical light is a little slimmer and more stylish than the standard SureFire combatlights. A handy little package housing the usual near-blinding Xenon lamp, the E2E is a great companion for casual citizens and "suits" alike.
My E2E has a gray, hard anodized finish and is powered by two 3-volt Lithium batteries. The bezel diameter is just one inch, while the body is a mere 0.8 inch in diameter. At 4.6 inches long and weighing 3.2 ounces, the E2E produces an impressive 60 lumens of light. Total burn time on one set of batteries is listed at 75 minutes.
The knurled aircraft-grade aluminum body provides great traction and feels good in my hand. The texture of the tailcap switch is also very good – rough but not too rough. The E2E feels extremely solid and has an aura of quality not shared by knockoff import lights.
The small size of the E2E makes it ideal for daily carry. In an office environment, it blends right in among pens and other accessories. The metal pocket clip is a nice feature, but I wish it was a little larger and longer to better distribute the weight of the light. Still, it does the job and it looks good even against formal clothing.
As a conveniently sized utility tool, the E2E can of course be used as a "tactical" light as well – but its benefits extend far
beyond self-defense. I am myopic, so being able to put more light on the dim interiors of office equipment or the spines of books in a poorly lighted reference library is very helpful to me. Any time I have to see the cables behind my computer or clear a jam in the fax machine, my E2E lights the way.
I suspect a lot of fellow office denizens would love to carry an E2E if they knew of the light. I showed mine to an engineer in a neighboring office (engineers always appreciate tactical lights) and he marveled at how small and powerful it was. I share his positive thoughts of the light.
The E2E is an excellent product in an efficient envelope.
